Oh my, it's Lent already..

and there I was sitting at the computer, preparing a post on what we do around here to make Lent more meaningful and BAM!, I came across this picture I took last year-- during the Lenten season (at least that's the folder it was in..), and help me Rhonda, it made me stop in my tracks, or made me get off track, or sumthin'.
So now after digging and digging for photos I took last year, so I could A.)Make sure I remembered all that we did (yes, preggo brain has already set in) and B.) then share the ideas here.. I got nothing-- nothing but distracted by these stinkin' beautiful eyes that will forever keep this kid out of any real trouble with me. I'm helpless.

But all is not lost because I did post one of our very favorite activities that we've done now for a few years. They're called Sacrifice Eggs and you can read all about it HERE.

So does this mean I'm not totally hopeless helpless?

Three's a crowd?

Maybe not in this case. You see, toddle monkey can't quite make it through a night without his over life-sized teddy bear. AKA: Monkey One. Each night you can hear his little voice pleading with his biggest of brothers to "Sweep wif me paweeeezeee..." Who could resist that?!?!

Happy St. Valentines Day!

A little repost from last year...

Here's hoping all of you and your loved ones have a great St. Valentines Day. Did you notice I said "St."?? At one point in time everyone referred to it that way... Folks went skipping around (okay, maybe not skipping) saying "Happy St. Valentines Day!" to their sweeties, teachers, grandparents etc. Even my little grade school Snoopy perforated edge valentine said "Happy St. Valentine's" back in the day. Now, I guess our time is too compressed and busy these days too eek out the 'St.' part. Next thing you know we'll be having Patrick's Day parades (sans the St.) and so forth. Although maybe not, since the Irish heavily guard and honor their beloved Saint.. some by drinking themselves silly with green beer on his feast day. (nuthin' wrong with that-- green beer, I mean. Drinking themselves silly-- another story) So my friends, to right the world a bit today, I'll be slowing down a little to wish everyone a proper "Happy St. Valentines Day". Consider yourselves the first!

The Interview Meme

Allison has been so gracious and patient with me~thank you Miss Allison!
I'm assuming that most folks know how these 'meme' things work so..
Here are the instructions:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me".
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. (I get to pick the questions).
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Here are the questions Allison asked me:
1. Have you always been artistic in some like, like you are with your photography today? What does it mean to you?
Umm.. truth be told I've not really considered myself "artistic". I would say I'm more like "crafty". When I think of 'art', I tend think of my 7th grade art teacher who basically told me I stunk at art~drawing in particular.   I became crafty in my early 20's my friend taught me how to make a bow out of ribbon when we were decorating for her wedding reception.  My creative juices took off from there.  For a few years, my husband, Rob, and I had a side business where we made Christmas items and sold them at craft shows.  It did pretty well- but eventually just took too much time away from family.  So now I put my energy in taking pics of the family and our adventures.  And I owe it all to my friend Kaye and her bow making skillz.  ;-)

2. How many places have you lived and do you have a favorite?
Let's see.. 4 places in TX (adult life), SD, OK, AK, IL, NE, OH, VA and NJ~ Nine states, more cities.. Each one was fabulous, really, all for different reasons.  We've not had a bad assignment thus far.  We really love living in different places, just don't enjoy the actual 'move' part of the deal.

3. What do you dream for your children?
Oh, that's easy peazy, lemon squeezy: Eternal Life in Heaven.

4.  If you had to be someone else for a day, who would you choose?
Oy, really?  Hmm... this might sound a bit hokey, but I'd choose to be my daughter.  I'd want to see what life is like in her shoes; our personalities are so different.  I think it would give me a great perspective on many levels.

5.  Tell us about a pivotal time in your faith journey.
An easy question really. (maybe sometime I'll delve into it more specifically one day here on the ol' blog)  I would have to say it was the year Rob was diagnosed with Stage 3, Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  I was newly pregnant with Three and dh was given a MONTH to live if we didn't so something about it, and fast.  At that time the oncologist tried to reassure us by telling us it was a good thing we were expecting baby number three, and thus had our "large" family, because after chemo we could forget about having more children.  So yeah, that was kind of a pivotal time.  Needless to say, Blessed be the Lord, 'cause I've got a healthy husband and we've had three more beautiful babies since that time and are expecting our fourth baby (post cancer).  Oh, and-- NO medical intervention either -- only God's abundant Grace. (and, woo.. I am soo not worthy~but I work on that part every day...)

Happy Birthday Princess!

We sure do love you baby girl...
