12-12-12

I had the pleasure of having lunch with this 12 year old, today, 12/12/12

at 12:12, oh, ...aaaand 12 seconds.  Too bad I can't do it again next year-- although 13/13/13 just doesn't sound as appealing...

Dusting off the camera..

I had the pleasure of doing some senior shots for a dear friend a couple of weeks ago.  I'm a little rusty, but thankfully I had a very patient subject.  See?  He's even smiling.

And well, since I've decided to merge my two blogs (yes, I  had another one that I actually posted on LESS- if you can imagine- than this one..)... I'm sharing the slideshow here of some of my favorite images.

What do these things have in common?

A guy, riding in a cart, in Sam's parking lot being pulled by his LLAMA, the beauty of fall displayed through a lone tree in our front yard, and the fleeting sight of a rainbow, INCLUDING it's end (I looked-- no gold, drat!)

Answer:  It all happened on a Tuesday morning before 0800.

Only got two out of three captured tho...

A visitor from Texas

Last week we were blessed to have our GG here from Texas and little man got to spend some quality time with her.  Having family visit is always a blessing when you're a military family constantly on the move.  We had a great time and can't wait until the next visit.

Playing catch up..

Since this blog serves as my scrapbook  that my family and I peruse now and then to take a look back into the past (rather pitiful, no?),  I'm rolling the clock back to April 2011 when dh returned home after a year away from us.  This is a post I'd written shortly after his return that never got published because it didn't feel 'finished'. Well my friends, I'm throwing caution to the wind and getting it out there anyway.  Yessir, that's me, livin' on the wild side.

==================

HOMECOMING!!!!  That word is forever altered in my book.  Whenever I hear 'homecoming', it will now conjure up more than just memories of a long ago fall night of high school football.   Now it  evokes feelings of togetherness, and circles made whole again.  Here are a few shots from dh’s homecoming.

House decked out, all ready to welcome him home..

Patiently waiting.. waiting... waiting...

Two told everyone he’d be the first to hug the Daddio-- and he was.

Six held onto his daddy's uniform blouse (yes, they call them 'blouses'.. hehe..) for the whole walk out of the terminal.

Yes, we were all VERY happy to have our Daddy home after a long year..

And even though he’d spent more time away from the baby than he’d spent with her, she was quick to bond with her papa.

Once home, we were able to reconnect as a family and just enjoy being around each other again.

Life is good!

Happy Girl

Most of you probably already know why Miss Pea is such a happy girl. I’ll be posting on that in the days to come. Let’s just say we’re one big happy family again, and that’s definitely something to smile about..

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In #37

Trying something new this week-- It’s a meme hosted by Wife of a Sailor.

1. With PCS moves happening every few years, do you take the time to paint and decorate your home? submitted by Life as Mrs. JPT
Why, yes, I do.  I am in my home with the kiddos for the better part of our days since we homeschool, and white gets old FAST.  I change decor seasonally and the kids enjoy being a part of it all.  Helps whichever house we are in at the time feel more like a home.  And if truth be told, I’ve also been known to switch out a light fixture or two...

2. If you could live in any home on a television series, what would it be? submitted by Standing By Him
Camille and Zeek’s  house on Parenthood.  Love her gardens, their porch, their garage, their kitchen and even the re-done barn (I think it is a barn) that their daughter Sarah lives in.  I’d also live Adam and Kristina’s home-- looks like a craftsman style-- my favorite.

3. What inspired you to start your blog?  submitted by Pink Combat Boots
The need for family and friends back home to feel connected.  I’m terrible about emailing photos--always seem to miss that one person that was waiting to see updates.  Also, I intended for my blog to serve as a scrapbook of sorts.  I’ll be years behind in printing family pictures for YEARS to come, so for me, this is the next best thing.

4. What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen on base? submitted byAdventures in Life
Hmmm... I’m sure if my husband was a part of Security Forces I could answer this question better.   I’m usually too busy to notice anything weird...  But, I have had the feeling that MY family is the weirdest thing a lot of other people have ever seen on base. ;-)

5. Which historical figure (politician, writer, artist, scientist, actor, etc…) would you like to have dinner with?  submitted by Army of Two
Hands down, JPII-- The Venerable, soon to be Blessed, Pope John Paul II.
