Week 24 Photo Challenge: Let's Hear It for the Boys!

This week's challenge is all boy.  'nuff said.  I've got six here in my house to choose from.  :)

So for the first time, I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring for both the kids and adult categories:

First up, KIDS:
Yeah, they look like tough lacrosse players-- but if  you look closely at the one on the left (who is known affectionately around here as 'Three'), you can see his chocolate chip cookie snack he was munchin' on just seconds prior to me taking this shot.
You can catch more great kid entries HERE.

Next is the ADULT category:

Happy Father's Day

In memory of Papa, my dad, who passed away a few years ago......

And in honor of my wonderful husband of 15 years.  I couldn't have asked for a better father for our monkeys and princess.  This video is for you.  I love you...

Reason #453

that my posting is a bit on the slim side these days. Ummm, it's 0419 and I've been awake since 0230.

I seem resort to using military time in the wee hours of the morning.
Why? Who knows... It's 0419!!!

Did you know??

That today is National Doughnut Day??  History behind today HERE.

Dunkin' Donuts is offering a free donut today with purchase of any beverage.

Of course, we couldn't let the day go by without celebrating it properly.  We were even able to find "Stars and Stripes" donuts.  yummy!!

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.

And let perpertual light shine upon him.
May his soul, and the soul of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Dh knew Mark.  Their paths crossed quite a bit...they were both in the Corps together at Texas A&M, were stationed at Offut AFB and they often slugged (rode) to work in DC together.  Dh said Mark was a top notch guy.  The world truly has lost another hero.  Please keep his family in your prayers.

Memorial Day

We pray this after Mass each Sunday.  Why not add it to your list...

Heavenly Father,
Grant a courageous heart, a quick mind and serene spirit to those now in our armed forces ready to offer their talents and if necessary their lives for the cause of truth, justice and liberty.  Keep them close to you in every way.  Make them always, even in these difficult circumstances, true witnesses to your goodness, love and compassion.  Finally Lord, bring them safely back to their homes and families.  Amen.
Also, ReAlDaPh has a great post on today's history.
